Salaam and welcome, I’m Renee.
I’m a Moroccan woman in my forties, a mother of three (may God bless them always), and someone whose life has long been woven with the scent of slow-roasted lamb, the sound of laughter in the kitchen, and the sacred rituals that turn meat into memory.
Growing up in Morocco, meat wasn’t just food, it was connection. Especially during Eid al-Adha. I still remember the hush of the early morning prayers, the care in my father’s hands, the way everyone. even us kids, had a role. We didn’t just prepare lamb; we honored it. We shared it. We made space for blessings in every bite. Those moments are stitched into my soul.
Now I live far from that childhood courtyard, but the flame still burns. In my own kitchen, with my children around me, I hold tight to those traditions. I teach them what I was taught: how to respect the animal, season with care, cook with patience, and serve with heart. That’s how Your Meat Spot was born, out of memory, motherhood, and a deep belief that meat is more than just a meal. It’s a bridge between cultures, generations, and souls.
This space is for anyone who wants to learn not just how to cook meat, but why it matters. Whether you’re curious about Moroccan flavors, looking for a deeper connection to your food, or just searching for a marinade that’ll make your guests pause mid-bite, you’re in the right place.
You’ll find recipes here, yes. But also stories. Reflections. Little glimpses of my life and my heritage. This is my virtual kitchen, and you are warmly invited to learn, to share, to taste something meaningful.
I hope you’ll return, not just for the food, but for the feeling.
Because once you’ve been welcomed with warmth, you’re always family.
